The Department of Communication at Villanova University seeks applicants for a tenure track position in Interpersonal/Intercultural Communication at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin Fall 2022. They are particularly interested in candidates whose scholarship examines and innovates in any of the following areas, especially within underserved or underrepresented groups: intercultural communication and social media/technology, intercultural/intergroup dialogue, interpersonal/intercultural communication competence, negotiation, conflict management, leadership, health, language, deception, affect, among others. The new hire will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on a 3-2 teaching load and pursue an active program of research. The successful applicant will conduct research and teach courses in areas that complement the school’s leadership in the social scientific study of communication. The Department of Communication Arts at Illinois College invites applications for an assistant professor, tenure-track position in intercultural communication with particular focus on intercultural communication within organizations to begin Fall 2022. Strong preference will be given to candidates with expertise and/or interest in studying issues of race, ethnicity, and culture within organizations in the U.S. context. Preference will also be given to candidates who have additional expertise/interest in the areas of strategic communication, social media, health communication, and/or another specialized area of expertise.

This position is part of a “cluster hire” with 3 tenure-track positions focused around the study of race, ethnicity, and justice in the United States, and include positions in African-American history, intercultural and organizational communication, and criminology and justice studies. The positions will be housed in three interdisciplinary departments: HPPR (History, Philosophy, Political Science, and Religion), Communication Arts, and Sociology (which includes Criminal Justice). The successful candidates will contribute to the continued development of a new African-American Studies minor, created in response to strong student interest. As part of a cohort, these positions will have additional mentoring and professional development support.

The Media & Engagement Specialist will promote UNU-IAS and its activities to raise visibility and impact. Under the overall supervision of the Director of the Division for Education 2030 and the Chief of the Section of Education for Inclusion and Gender Equality, and the direct supervision of the Communication Officer on one part and the Liaison Officer for the Joint Program on the other part, the Contractor will support the digital and audio-visual communication efforts of the Section and the visibility efforts of the Joint Program (from 1 September to 30 December 2021). Among other duties, the successful candidate will help to implement the digital communication plan and update/improve it as needed based on upcoming landmarks and events, including a working list of outputs and timeline. Required qualifications include, but are not limited to, advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in communications, media/journalism, political science, social science or a related field. No less than two years of experience developing, producing, disseminating and monitoring creative communication and digital content, of which preferably one year at international level. Excellent knowledge of both English and French.
