The Department of Chinese and Bilingual Studies (CBS) is one of the constituent departments of the Faculty of Humanities. With over 40 full-time academic and teaching staff members, CBS is a vibrant center for research in the areas of Chinese linguistics, corpus linguistics, language and communication disorders, cognitive neuroscience, bilingual communication, Chinese language education, Chinese language testing, language technology, and translation and interpreting. The Department now seeks to extend its strength in areas like language data analytics and computational linguistics. The Department is also devoted to offering high-quality education programmes at different levels (bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral) in Chinese Linguistics, Chinese Language Teaching, Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Speech Therapy, Translating and Interpreting, Bilingual Corporate Communication, as well as Korean/Japanese language and culture courses at bachelor’s level. Guidelines for Submissions
Categories: Abstract, panel proposals, and workshop proposals may be
accepted.
1. Abstract, 150-250 words in English, including positions,
affiliations, email addresses and mailing addresses for all authors.
2. Panel proposals reflecting the conference theme may be submitted. All
panel proposals should provide a 100-word rationale and a 100-200 word
abstract of each panelist’s paper; include affiliation and email
addresses for each panelist.
3. Workshop proposals relevant to the conference theme may be submitted.
Proposals should be 3-5 pages in length, single spaced.

Deadline: Please submit abstracts by January 11, 2015, and panel/workshop proposals and roundtable discussion sessions by February 1, 2015.
