The Department of Communication at Bradley University seeks a dynamic and creative television arts professor to join a productive team of interdisciplinary colleagues in August of 2012. This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s expertise and interests as well as the curriculum needs of the Department of Communication, but primary teaching responsibilities include media sales, media management, media programming and promotion. The successful candidate will have expertise in, and the ability to teach, the full range of social and interactive media in a global environment. The ideal candidate will embrace a global perspective, cultural diversity, and an understanding of the new digital age of communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Appropriate terminal degree (ABD considered, but terminal degree required for tenure-track appointment)
2. Professional experience in one or more of the primary teaching areas
3. College-level teaching experience
4. Potential for research and/or creative production
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to teach television production courses and the department’s core courses.
RANK: Assistant Professor
SALARY: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
STARTING DATE: August 15, 2012
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Teach three courses per semester in Television Arts
2. Advise program majors
3. Engage in research/creative production
4. Other departmental committees/responsibilities as assigned
