Bradley U job ad

The Department of Communication at Bradley University seeks a dynamic and creative television arts professor to join a productive team of interdisciplinary colleagues in August of 2012.  This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor. Teaching assignments will be based on the candidate’s expertise and interests as well as the curriculum needs of the Department of Communication, but primary teaching responsibilities include media sales, media management, media programming and promotion.  The successful candidate will have expertise in, and the ability to teach, the full range of social and interactive media in a global environment.  The ideal candidate will embrace a global perspective, cultural diversity, and an understanding of the new digital age of communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.  Appropriate terminal degree (ABD considered, but terminal degree required for tenure-track appointment)

The Department of English at North Carolina State University is searching for a new faculty member to join its programs in technical communication, professional writing, and digital media. The position is listed at the rank of Assistant Professor but exceptional candidates will be considered for appointment at a higher rank.

Position Description: Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in technical communication, digital media, professional writing, and/or rhetoric of science and technology (2-2 base teaching load for assistant professors), as well as maintaining an active research and publication program and participating in scholarly and university service. Applicants with research and teaching interests in international and global issues in technical communication will receive primary consideration; those with strengths in multimedia design and production, digital media theory, project management, computer-supported cooperative work, and rhetoric of science and technology may also be considered. Information about Department and Programs: Technical communication programs at NC State are well established within the Department of English and include courses within an undergraduate concentration in Language, Writing, and Rhetoric, a minor and a master’s degree in Technical Communication, and an interdisciplinary doctoral program in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media that incorporates technical communication. There is a large service program in technical, business, and scientific writing and a nationally innovative Campus Writing and Speaking Program that works to incorporate writing and speaking experiences within undergraduate instruction across the curriculum. JOB DESCRIPTION:
CELSA, the Graduate School of Journalism and Communications of the Sorbonne University, seeks an articulate and experienced native-English-speaking researcher to play a key role in curricular development and teaching in association with its languages department and degree programs.

The Graduate Fellowship position will be composed of 10-12 hours of work per week during the 2012-2013 academic year.  Coursework will be based on a combination of teaching (classroom and tutorial settings) and research on innovative forms of pedagogy, including case-study writing, to further the fellow’s professional development.  Fellows will also present their research plans and results to the academic community at least once during the year-long fellowship.  The monthly stipend for the position is €1,256.12 (after taxes) for the 12-month period based on a Contrat de Lecteur in the French national education system.

Ideal candidates will possess proven knowledge of the Information and Communication Sciences in an effort to promote a cross-cultural understanding of the field to students and colleagues.  The candidate must possess excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.  Successful candidates will be able to communicate in French in addition to being adept at using computer soft and hardware for innovative pedagogical applications. An advanced university degree, some teaching experience and specific research experience would also be assets.

There is an immediate opening for the position of International Coordinator / Project Manager at the Center for Intercultural Dialogue and Translation (CIDT) in Cairo, Egypt.

Egypt is going through an important transitional period. CIDT plays a role in this transition by continuing to contribute accurate reporting, media monitoring, and peace-building projects, which help build bridges between Muslims and Christians, both in Egypt and abroad.

CIDT receives funding from donor organizations in order to do its general work and complete its projects. The international coordinator is responsible for maintaining relations with existing donors, applying for funding for new projects, and ensuring that projects are carried out according to agreements.
