The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of the Institute of Education at University College London.   1. Lecturer in Language Learning and Intercultural Communication

You will contribute to Masters, PhD programmes and other programmes in the Centre, while also contributing to research, knowledge exchange, and consultancy activies in the department. Alongside the demonstration of a broad theoretical and practical understanding of intercultural communication, you will have knowledge and expertise in language learning and intercultural communication and will contribute to the further development of this aspect of the MA Intercultural Communication. You will also play a significant role in the planning and development of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies.

2. Lecturer in Professional Communication

You will contribute to Masters, PhD and other programmes in the Centre, while also contributing to research, knowledge exchange and consultancy activities in the department. Alongside the demonstration of a broad theoretical and practical understanding of intercultural communication, you will have knowledge and expertise in the development of intercultural competence in professional settings and will take a lead in developing this aspect of the MA Intercultural Communication. You will also play a significant role in the planning and development of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies.

The University of Bedfordshire is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Intercultural Competence. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering research-informed teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate International Business courses and for ensuring an excellent student experience. An integral part of the role will be to work with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and programmes, including developing and delivering new practice-based units and courses. They will consider applications from across the spectrum of Intercultural Competence but are particularly interested in candidates also able to deliver high quality and innovative teaching in the areas of cross-cultural management in business, inter-cultural competence in business, intercultural relations, peace-keeping, international marketing and global issues affecting international business and consumer behaviour. The Centre on Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS) at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint a Quantitative Researcher with expertise in the statistical analysis of quantitative data on migration and migrants for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension. The post holder will work on analysing quantitative data from different research projects and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator of the projects, Professor Carlos Vargas-Silva. The projects in which the researcher will work include Aligning Migration Management and the Migration Development Nexus, a large research project with the core ambition of creating new knowledge on migration, development and policy.

U Liverpool: Postdoc in the Language of Food and Race (UK but Remote)

The postholder will provide research and administrative support to the project ‘The language of food and race: A participatory ethnography of Chinese food in the UK’ funded by the Participatory Research Support Fund at the University of Liverpool. The project investigates how the ways we do and talk about food are shaped by racial stereotypes and ideologies, with a view to expose and challenge food-related racism and build community solidarity and cultural resilience within the Chinese community in Liverpool. The PDRA will work closely with the principal investigator Dr Shuang Gao in developing, co-ordinating, administering and facilitating the research.
