The University of Notre Dame seeks a strategic and collaborative intellectual leader to serve as the next Dean of the Donald R. Keough School of Global Affairs. Founded in 2014, the Keough School plays a pivotally important role for Notre Dame. The University’s purpose is to be a force for good in the world. To that end, Keough School faculty, staff, and students pursue understanding of, and solutions to, some of the world’s most pressing challenges, including poverty, war, disease, political oppression, democratic erosion, environmental degradation, and other threats to human dignity. The Keough School recently issued its Strategic Plan 2030. The plan calls for extending Keough’s reputation as a mission-driven global public policy school drawing on the strengths of its eight institutes and one center; growing and maturing the School’s programs and co-curricular offerings; and sustaining and expanding research, public policy, and practice partnerships, as well as increased external engagement.

The Dean will join Notre Dame and lead the Keough School at a propitious moment, made all the more so by the release of the University’s Strategic Framework 2033, which sets forth ambitious goals for global reach and impact.     They are looking for an individual(s) to supports IFSA’s programs in Sydney. This position provides academic and cultural support for undergraduate students; organises co-curricular activities and contributes to the overall operations. In this position, you will work with colleagues from our sites in Australia and the Asia Pacific, the Global Health & Safety Team, Academic Programs and Student Engagement Team. You will work from home and then meet students on campus or at activities/excursions. Hours are flexible and for part-time positions, the workload can be broken up over multiple days of choice over the week.

The Student Experience Coordinator supports IFSA’s programs in Prague. This position provides pre arrival and onsite support for students through orientations; cultural engagement opportunities to deepen the student experience; coordinates housing; organizes co-curricular activities; and contributes to overall program operations. The Student Experience Coordinator works closely with all members of the local team and Director.

Northeastern U London: Global & Intercultural Communication (UK)

Northeastern University London wishes to appoint a part-time fixed term Lecturer to teach the first-year undergraduate Global & Intercultural Communication course running in the spring of 2024. In addition to teaching, the appointed person will also be expected to mark assessments and hold regular office hours. The appointee will teach multiple groups of up to 35 students. Teaching competency in Communication Studies to at least Level 4 (1st year undergraduate) is required.

This role is offered on a part time basis of 0.6FTE and involves up to 150 contact hours. The role requires teaching availability for at least 3 weekdays per week in term-time and consists of up to 9 hours of teaching per week in most weeks. The role is expected to start in December 2023 and end in July 2024. Teaching on the course, in person, will take place between January and April 2024.

This course focuses on theories of and approaches to the study of intercultural communication. It studies the importance of being able to negotiate cultural differences and of understanding intercultural contact in societies and institutions. The course stresses the benefits and complexities of cultural diversity in global, local, and organisational contexts.

CSU Fullerton: Asian or Latin American Cinema (USA)

The ideal candidate will be able to develop and teach lectures and seminars on topics in Asian or Latin American Cinema including contemporary film and media courses, film history, and film theory courses to undergraduates and to MFA students. U Hull: Study Abroad Manager (UK)

The University of Hull is looking for a Study Abroad Manager who will be responsible for day-to-day management of a range of programmes in support of international mobility for Hull students. These will include in-year study abroad programmes with exchange partners and summer opportunities. The post-holder will actively manage relationships with key stakeholders in student mobility, including exchange partners, international organisations that support mobility, and key internal contacts who support the effective delivery of mobility. They will manage the organisation of pre-arrival communication, induction and relevant ongoing support to outgoing and incoming students on mobility programmes. They will work to increase the number of fee-paying Visiting Students, in addition to supporting incoming students on exchange or short courses. U Oklahoma: Intercultural Communication (USA)

The Department of Communication at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor (with tenure) position in intercultural, interethnic, or intergroup communication. They seek an outstanding scholar who will contribute to the department’s national reputation in intercultural communication and who has methodological expertise in quantitative, qualitative, or mixed research methods. Intercultural communication is a historic department strength.

The successful candidate should be an active scholar, with a clearly defined program of research that can make significant theoretical contributions to the intercultural communication discipline and a strong record of or potential for publication in refereed journals. Furthermore, the scholar’s research should help enhance the department’s program and contribute to the broader strategic vision of the Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences and The University of Oklahoma. Interdisciplinary interests that could lead to collaborations across other departments and centers at the University are desirable, particularly if such initiatives lead to external funding that can enhance the university’s national profile. Departments in which potential for collaboration may exist include the following: College of International Studies, Native American Studies, African and African American Studies, Women’s and Gender Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, or a discipline where the scholar applies their work. San Diego State U: Border Studies in Communication (USA)

The School of Communication at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Border Studies in Communication, at the level of assistant professor, to start August 2024. The successful candidate will teach across undergraduate and graduate curriculum courses that center border studies, including but not limited to intersections with media studies, health communication, rhetorical movements, intercultural communication, organizational communication, and/or gender and sexuality. The candidate will also have the opportunity to create and teach classes aligned with their particular research interests and methodologies, including upper division/graduate level classes. The successful candidate will also be able to teach other graduate-level courses as needed on a rotational basis. In alignment with the University’s teacher-scholar model, the new hire could also teach a dual-level elective fitting the candidate’s area(s) of research interest and his/her/their research program. The candidate is expected to pursue a scholarly research agenda examining the intersections of border studies and communication studies. All methodological approaches to research will be considered. The Department of Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Latina/o/x/e-centered communication research. The Department seeks to hire a scholar who conducts theory-driven, culturally-informed, applied research on communication processes centering Latina/o/x/e communities. We desire candidates whose scholarship complements or extends at least one of the department’s three core areas in interpersonal and intergroup communication; media and digital communication; and organizational and group communication, as well as any of our cross-cutting emphases in health, community engagement, family, science, environmental, political, or global approaches to communication. We welcome a wide range of empirical approaches to research, including qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods. The ideal
