The Department of English at Tsuda University is seeking to hire an Assistant/Associate Professor in Communication Studies (with tenure), starting on April 1, 2021. Thew new faculty member will teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including but not limited to communication theory and research, intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, and rhetorical criticism. The successful candidate is also expected to teach English language courses such as Academic Writing, Public Speaking, and Debate.

The language of instruction will primarily be English. However, the successful candidate should also have sufficient Japanese proficiency to handle daily academic and administrative work.

The Department of English, in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, invites applications for a tenure-track Professorial Stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Middle Eastern Diasporic Literatures and Cultures to commence July 1st 2020. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research can be situated within the fields of Postcolonial and World Literature in English within and across periods, genres, and regions. Interdisciplinary and intermedial approaches are especially welcome. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in English Literature or a related field with a specialization in Middle Eastern Diasporic Literatures and Cultures; a dynamic, substantial, and ongoing research portfolio; an innovative scholarly profile; and a track record of experience and demonstrable excellence in university teaching. We are particularly interested in candidates who engage Middle Eastern Diasporic Literatures and Cultures from a variety of global perspectives that may include but should not be limited to North America, with demonstrated expertise in theoretical and critical paradigms in Postcolonial and/or World Literature. The successful applicant will direct courses in World Literature and Postcolonial writing at all levels, contribute to curricular development in their area of specialization, and participate actively in the graduate program. Ca’ Foscari is looking for a researcher in the area of History of East and South-East Asia, who will be involved in the “Department of Excellence” project. Saint Louis University is seeking applicants for a full-time (12-month renewable) faculty position in Communication Studies at the campus in Madrid, Spain. The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Communication Studies specialized in new media, popular culture, and audience research. We seek a qualitative researcher trained in ethnographic methods. Candidates must have experience working with an international student population embedded within a culturally diverse educational environment. The candidate should have teaching experience in undergraduate education, and preferably be acquainted with the U.S. educational system of higher education. Teaching responsibilities include core courses such as Public Speaking, New Media & Society, Communication Theory, and upper-level courses such as Popular Culture and Digital Storytelling. In addition to these courses, the candidate should be able to expand our Communication curriculum with courses grounded in his or her area of expertise, including an advanced qualitative research methods course.
