The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) at Teachers College, Columbia University (TC) is seeking an International Projects and Partnerships Manager to further international engagement at the College. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Global Engagement, the incumbent will support the development and expansion of strategic partnerships with institutions and organizations abroad. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing short- and long-term collaborations from initiation to closure; and will liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. academic institutions, Ministries of Education, Columbia Global Centers, etc.) to carry out program initiatives abroad or at the College through in-residence programs. In addition, the International Projects and Partnerships Manager will be expected to conduct research to vet potential partners; draft and edit collaboration agreements; manage partnership and program activities; and develop funding proposals and budgets.

Maynooth U: Applied Linguistics (Ireland)

Maynooth University is seeking an excellent academic to join their staff as an Assistant Professor in Applied Linguistics with a specialism in English-language Pedagogy. Given the SMLLC’s plans for strategic development in the coming years, they would be especially interested in candidates whose research focuses on English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI), English-Medium Education (EME), TESOL, Integrated Content and Language Learning in Higher Education (ICLHE), TESL, and/or the intercultural dimensions of teaching of, and through, English in a higher-education context.

The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research, and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the School and to undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, as well as the supervision of Master’s and PhD students.

The Migration Policy Institute is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit think tank based in Washington, DC, and dedicated to the study of migration worldwide. The Demetrios G. Papademetriou Young Scholars Program, named in honor of MPI’s co-founder and first president, has trained more than 375 future global migration scholars and policy analysts, many of whom are now leaders in the field. MPI’s internship program has two goals: harnessing the valuable contributions of interns for MPI’s work and training the next generation of migration leaders. MPI is committed to recruiting and supporting interns who reflect the breadth of experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives in the countries where it works. Foundation for Intl Education: Asst Resident Director (Ireland)

UCL: Head of Language Learning Futures (UK)

You will be working for the National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE), funded by the Department for Education (DfE), working with a consortium of stakeholders, including the Goethe-Institut and the British Council and a national network of lead hub schools across England to increase uptake of languages qualifications in Key Stage 4 and 5 in English state-funded schools. You will work with the NCLE Director, the Director of Partnerships and Professional Development and the NCLE team to develop and deliver a national Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for Language Hub Lead School specialist teachers and all teachers of Languages, including support for Home, Heritage and Community Languages, across the 9 government regions in England. The CPD offer will be hybrid, involving face-to-face and virtual training, supported by digital modules that can be completed asynchronously.

You will be located in the International Centre for Intercultural Studies. The Centre promotes intellectually rigorous, practically relevant and interdisciplinary Intercultural Studies that advance understanding of the role of culture in society, education and communication and inform intercultural practices and policy. The Centre is part of the Department of Culture, Communication and Media, itself housed in IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society (formerly the Institute of Education).

You will join the vibrant and diverse Department of Languages, Cultures and Linguistics that has recently launched the unique interdisciplinary BA Language Culture and Communication, combining the study of languages with ethnography, cultural studies, sociolinguistics, as well as digital and non-digital communication. The program is based within the School of Humanities, which has recently invested in Digital Humanities to grow expertise and infrastructure in digital humanities approaches across humanities disciplines.

City, U of London: Fellow in Transnational Experiential Learning (UK)

The Fellow will be the project lead in developing City Law School’s global or transnational collaborative and experiential learning. Working in partnership with the Associate Dean for Partnerships and the Professions and the Director of the City Community Legal Advice Centre, the Fellow will devise, pilot, resource, and implement transnational experiential learning opportunities, tailored to the needs of City Law School students, by forging one or more global partnerships with law schools in countries with transitional economies.

The school is looking for a graduate in law with experience of designing and delivering transnational experiential legal education, and experience of securing external funding to support experiential legal education. They should also have experience of teaching and assessing in one or more core law subjects in the undergraduate curriculum at The City Law School.
