Position 1: Director, Communication Program

Northwestern University’s first international campus, Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q), is searching for a senior faculty member to serve as director of our program in communication.

Of special interest are candidates with expertise in media economics, media industry studies, or related fields. The ideal candidate will be a senior scholar with administrative experience; the successful candidate will act as Director of the Communication Program, leading a faculty of eleven and working closely with the Dean’s Office on issues of faculty development, mentoring, and curricular planning. Such a candidate will have a reduced teaching load, but will be expected to lead undergraduate courses on topics related to his or her expertise. Candidates should have a record of publication and scholarly accomplishment commensurate with the rank and position. Relevant industry experience and demonstrated interest in the Middle East will be especially welcome. Earned Ph.D. preferred. The program director also represents the Communication Program across the school, in Qatar’s Education City, and at the home campus in Evanston.

Position 2: Faculty Position in Media Management or Economics & Organizing Executive and Advanced Education

We seek candidates with expertise in the organization of executive university programs in media and communication, the social sciences, or humanities. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and managing such a program and how it is taught. U Northern Iowa Job Ad: Intercultural Communication

Assistant Professor of Communication at University of Northern Iowa

The University of Northern Iowa seeks applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in Communication Studies starting August 2017. Responsibilities include a 3/3 teaching load (nine credit hours per semester) of classes in Communication Studies with opportunities to teach graduate courses, direct M.A. theses/research projects, and mentor students in co-curricular activities and creative work.

The successful candidate is expected to participate in curriculum development as well as department and university governance; demonstrate effective classroom teaching; pursue individual scholarly/creative activity; and engage in professional service.

Ph.D. in Communication Studies or related field required. ABDs with evidence of degree completion by August 2017 considered. Position 3. Tenured Associate or Full Professor in the Political Economy of the Middle East  at National University of Singapore
