Assistant Professor of Communication Studies (Rhetoric) at Kansas State University

We are inviting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor with a specialization in rhetoric, beginning August 2017. Potential areas of research expertise that are a strong fit for this position include: a focus on new media and technology, an international/global perspective, a critical approach, and/or social movements. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels in rhetorical theory and criticism along with course(s) that complement their own research interests.

Qualifications: Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Communication or a related field in hand by August 2017.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will contribute to K-State’s Vision 2025 goal of being a top-50 research university by 2025 by carrying out a vibrant program of research; by contributing to the department’s reputation for teaching excellence at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; by advising graduate and undergraduate students; and by providing service to the department, university, discipline, and community.
