The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in one or more departments or schools in the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs (GCUA) in the area Ethnic and Equity Studies with an emphasis in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEI-B). The individual will facilitate college-level DEI-B initiatives. The U.S. News & World (2021) Report on Campus Ethnic Diversity ranks UNLV the second most diverse university for undergraduate students in the nation. John Cabot University (JCU) invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty position in International Relations and/or International Law. The appointment is for one year, beginning August 2024, and with possibility of renewal. They seek candidates with a Ph.D. in International Relations or International Law, demonstrated excellence in teaching and research, and commitment to academic service. The area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to applicants with an interdisciplinary expertise in the two above-mentioned areas. The ideal candidate should have familiarity and experience with the American liberal arts educational tradition, and be prepared to teach introductory courses (e.g., World Politics, International Organizations, International Law) as well as courses in their area of expertise. The Department of Politics and International Relations in association with Exeter College are recruiting to the post of Associate Professor of International Relations to start from 1 September 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applications are welcome from both early career and established scholars in any sub-field of international relations. However, the Department has particular needs at present in historical international relations, the international relations of the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Russia and the Post-Soviet space, international law, and the international politics of the environment.

The successful candidate will be required to carry out advanced research in the field and to develop courses and provide teaching and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students; they will be expected to provide and organize undergraduate teaching for one or more of the Department’s undergraduate papers in International Relations; to contribute to the core paper of the MPhil in International Relations; to supervise graduate students in the Department’s MPhil and DPhil programmes in International Relations; to deliver undergraduate tutorial or small-group teaching in Exeter College; and to participate in academic administration, examining and assessment, the admission of students to the Department and College, and in the governance of the Department and the College.

Research and Community Engagement: Conduct high-impact research in their area or expertise, leading to publications in reputable academic journals and academic presses. Research should address contemporary challenges in social or environmental justice. In cases where the applicant’s home discipline is one where generating external funding is expected, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the potential to secure grants. The position strongly favors candidates with methodological expertise in community engaged research, applied humanities, and/or data science.
