Wenzhou-Kean U job ad

Anticipated Faculty  Openings 2013-2014

Kean, a comprehensive New Jersey state university, is seeking faculty for its extension program in Wenzhou, China.  Launched in 2012, the program is offered temporarily on the campus of and in partnership with Wenzhou University while the university prepares for the establishment of a full branch campus and constructs a new campus of its own at a nearby site.  For 2013, Wenzhou-Kean University programs will comprise five baccalaureate majors: English (writing option), Computer Science, Finance, Accounting (with emphasis on international standards and practices) and International Business Management.  All instruction is in English for Chinese students of traditional college-entering age (18) who have studied English throughout their primary and secondary education and who have scored high on the Chinese national exam for English-language proficiency. The faculty position is full-time, single or multi-year assignments, effective September 1, 2013, at the rank specified.. Tenure-track appointments for faculty available only for rank of assistant professor or higher.

Communication (Assistant Professor or Lecturer)

Teach basic communication classes along with upper-level electives in the areas of business and organizational communication or other areas of specialization. The basic communication class comprises components in public speaking, group, interpersonal and communication theory. Another regular course assignment will be Business and Professional Communication.  Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level required for appointment as lecturer.  Doctorate and active research agenda in communication studies in addition to significant teaching experience required for appointment as assistant professor.

Business Communication: The Center for Management Communication in the Marshall School of Business invites applications for a full-time Assistant, Associate, or full Professor of Clinical Management Communication (non-tenure-track, rank dependent on experience and qualifications) beginning in academic year 2013-14.

Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate courses in communication strategy, organizational and leadership communication, and advanced writing for business. We are especially interested in applicants with expertise in the areas of new media, business ethics, workplace diversity, and international/cross-cultural communication. Service responsibilities to the department, school, and university are also required.

Strong applicants will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, extensive hands-on business experience in today’s global marketplace, a command of classroom technology and new media, and a Ph.D. in a related field.

The Department of Communication and Rhetorical Studies at Illinois College announces a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of Intercultural Communication, to begin Fall 2012. The ideal candidate will also have experience in one or more of the following areas of study: business communication, persuasion, research methods, health communication, and/or another specialized area of expertise. As part of a 3-3 teaching load, the candidate will teach Intercultural Communication, multiple sections of public speaking, and one or more courses in the areas listed above. We will consider candidates who work from a variety of methodological and theoretical perspectives; with experience in either qualitative or quantitative analyses, or both.
