The Migration Policy Institute Europe (MPI Europe), established in Brussels in 2011, is a nonprofit, independent research institute that aims to provide a better understanding of migration in Europe and thus promote effective policymaking. MPI Europe provides authoritative research and practical policy design to governmental and nongovernmental stakeholders who seek more effective management of immigration, immigrant integration, and asylum systems in order to promote successful outcomes for newcomers, families of immigrant background, and receiving communities in Europe.

MPI Europe seeks a highly motivated, experienced professional to become the Director of Brussels-based MPI Europe. The new Director will be responsible for providing leadership to MPI Europe at a critical time of growth for the Institute and a pivotal time for migration in Europe and around the globe. He/she will work with a team of recognized experts on migration and integration based in Brussels and coordinate with the staff of its sister organization in Washington, DC (MPI), as needed.

The Gateway Program Unit designs and implements educational exchange programs for international clients (universities, private companies, and governmental organizations) which are usually one to six weeks in length.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing and implementing an growing number of short-term, executive programs. The Program Coordinator works with the Manager of Gateway Program and the Academic Director in the design and preparation of the program. During the implementation phase, he/she provides on-going support to international students to ensure that the group receives an excellent training experience while in the United States. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Global Affairs Officer in the Office of Global Engagement (OGE), the Director of Study Abroad will provide leadership in the strategy, management, planning, and administration of the Study Abroad Center.  Leading a team of Education Abroad professionals, the Director is responsible for administrative and programmatic oversight of all education abroad programs sponsored by the university and directs the implementation of international academic experiences that foster student engagement, learning, and development. Many UCI study abroad programs are offered through the University of California Education Abroad Program.  The Director will oversee a significant expansion of services to include direct student exchange and faculty-led programs originating at the UCI campus.

This is an open rank search at either the Specialist (P2) or Senior Specialist (P3) level for a position in Purdue’s Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research (CILMAR). The Senior Intercultural Research Specialist will be a seasoned interculturalist with both a theoretical understanding of intercultural communication and experience applying theory and best practices to the design and implementation of scholarship in this discipline. Candidates who are not eligible for a senior position but demonstrate potential for success in this role with evidence of interest in intercultural learning and transferable research skills will be considered at the Specialist level. The (Senior) Intercultural Research Specialist will work closely with CILMAR Intercultural Learning Specialists as well as faculty, staff, and students to support cutting-edge intercultural scholarship, especially research that advances the discipline’s understanding of intercultural competence development in higher education settings. The research specialist will be expected to engage competently with quantitative and qualitative data, individually and on teams, and on both externally and internally funded projects. In addition, this position involves mentoring others in the development of intercultural competence, creating and presenting intercultural interventions, debriefing participants on the results of intercultural assessments, and disseminating information about CILMAR’s work in and beyond Purdue.
