The University of Aberdeen’s Directorate of People is seeking to recruit an International Student Adviser to ensure that students are correctly supported and advised in relation to visa applications and associated requirements. This will involve working closely with individual students, as well as with a range of University colleagues and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the UK immigration system. The role will also require the successful candidate to support our work around Immigration Advice and Compliance and the wider effectiveness of the department.

The International Student Advisers provide one-to-one support to our international student population, specifically with regard to visa applications under the Student Route of the UK Immigration System. The team provide both proactive and reactive advice and support to students relating to immigration matters and will deliver presentations to staff and students. ISA support is available to students throughout their progress with the University, from pre-arrival to post-study options. The team of ISAs liaise closely with colleagues across the University with specific regard to immigration compliance and maintaining the University’s licence to sponsor international students. This role will also look to support wider activity within the team.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience of supporting students, ideally in Higher Education have strong inter-personal skills and good written and oral communication skills. The successful applicant must be passionate about supporting international students and will ideally have experience in providing advice to students on the UK Immigration System.

The University of Aberdeen wishes to appoint, at Professorial level, a Director to lead its interdisciplinary Centre for Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity.  The ideal candidate should have extensive internationally-renowned academic expertise in an underpinning discipline within Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity, with a proven track record of interdisciplinary research, as well as success in meeting or exceeding challenging targets. For this role candidates will be an experienced academic leader with outstanding leadership, human resources, financial accountability and negotiating skills. You will also have an in-depth knowledge of high-level Government policy and business as well as a strong understanding of government and other funding streams.

U Aberdeen Job Ad: International Marketing (UK)

The main purpose of this role is to manage and deliver a coherent digital campaign strategy in China, coordinating with colleagues in the International Office, Marketing and IT to create a sector leading institutional identity to aid student recruitment figures.  This includes continuing to develop a unique brand identity for the University of Aberdeen in China, integrating marketing activity across multiple Chinese social media platforms, specifically Weibo, WeChat, QQ, Yizhibo and Baidu and developing and maintaining our China focussed web content.

The post holder will be fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) and have extensive experience of Chinese digital marketing, social media marketing and HE marketing.  In addition to brand and profile raising activities, the post will also be integral to conversion, utilising social media to build supportive communities to assist in progressing potential students through the applicant journey.  Further, the post holder will also assist in wider recruitment activities which would include participation at overseas fairs and events as well as connecting with our Chinese student community already based in Aberdeen via engagement with our Chinese Society and developing our Alumni engagement and reach.
