The Department of Communication at Hope College seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of assistant professor beginning fall 2022. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and research in the area of international, intercultural, intergroup, and global communication. The area is one of the concentrations for the majors and minors in the department.

The successful candidate is expected to have a scholarly research program that examines international/intercultural communication from political, economic, interpersonal, organizational, and/or mediated perspectives. We are open to a variety of methodological approaches, including quantitative, qualitative, cultural, and rhetorical methods. Scholars who are experienced in collaborating with undergraduate students on research are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts at Eastern Michigan University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor specializing in intercultural and interracial communication.

The successful candidate will bring strong teaching and scholarly expertise in intercultural and interracial communication, and join a faculty committed to social justice through the scholarship and pedagogy of effective communication in a variety of social, personal, and professional settings.  In addition to teaching undergraduate intercultural and interracial communication courses, the appointment may also include teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses related to the candidate’s qualifications.

The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in relevant scholarly work as well as department, university, and other professional service.  Review of applications will begin December 1, 2015 and continue until the position is filled.

Aquinas College job ad: Intercultural Communication

Aquinas College invites applications for a tenure-track position starting August 2015 as an Assistant/ Associate Professor of Communication.

Our faculty members are responsible for delivering quality, student-centered, hands-on, active instruction in order to prepare students for success. We are looking for a dynamic, caring professional dedicated to teaching excellence and professional scholarship. Teaching load is 12 hours per semester. Related responsibilities include maintaining office hours, advising students, and participating in departmental and college-wide activities. Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. or be ABD with completion scheduled by the time of appointment.

The faculty member will have primary responsibility for teaching Intercultural Communication and, on a rotational basis, a newly designed Applied Statistics for the Social Sciences course.  If desired, the candidate may elect to teach Humanities and/or a First-Year Experience course within the General Education Core.  There are also opportunities to teach within our departmental standard core in courses such as Introduction to Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, etc.  Additional opportunities to teach in an area of specialization that may relate to Communication and Social Justice, Health Communication, Leadership, Political Communication, or Public Relations and Advertising may be negotiated.
