CIDOB: Programa Talent Global 2026 (Spain)

The Banco Sabadell Foundation and CIDOB (Barcelona Center for International Affairs) launch the sixth edition of the Programa Talent Global with the aim of promoting quality research by young researchers, through two paid research stays. The Junior Visiting Fellowship is aimed at two young researchers up to the age of 30 who have demonstrated their research skills and would join CIDOB’s research team for a period of six months through a paid research stay.

CIDOB: Institutional Relations Officer and Support to the Director (Spain)

CIDOB opens a call to hire a person who will develop and help to deepen institutional relations, as well as provide support to the Director in their day-to-day institutional activity. The selected candidate will be responsible for keeping relevant institutional contacts up to date, including CIDOB’s main interlocutors, databases and relations with members of CIDOB, and will contribute to the identification of new opportunities to strengthen institutional relations. The selected person will work closely with the Director, providing strategic and organisational support. Likewise, they will support the Director in their daily activities, including agenda management and support for institutional activities.

CIDOB is a think tank for international affairs that seeks to analyse global issues that affect political, social and governance dynamics, from the international to the local level.

CFP CIDOB International Yearbook 2024

Call for papers by young researchers: CIDOB International Yearbook 2024. Deadline: 10 May 2024.

The CIDOB International Yearbook is an annual volume devoted to the analysis and study of international relations and politics. Published continuously since 1990, over its 33 editions the Yearbook has become a standard volume for experts and academics studying international affairs and a key Spanish-language tool for analysing international dynamics, drivers of change and future challenges in international politics, security and economics.

With the aim of giving young researchers a voice, CIDOB is launching its 5th Call for Papers on the Analysis of International Relations, which is addressed to students, experts and analysts under the age of 30 in order to encourage a renewed vision of today’s international challenges.

The articles presented should fit into one of the following thematic categories:

  • The Global South in the international order
  • The rise of the new international right
  • The age of insecurity

Since the call is explicitly aimed at young researchers, the authors must be a maximum of 30 years of age on May 10th 2024.

Papers should be 1,200 words in length in English, and 1,500 in Spanish/Catalan.

CIDOB: Research Fellow, Global Cities (Spain)

CIDOB is a think tank for international affairs that seeks to analyse global issues that affect political, social and governance dynamics, from the international to the local. CIDOB promotes innovation in the analysis of global politics, with the aim of transcending classical international relations structures and considering the growing impact of global phenomena on local realities and vice versa. In 2017, CIDOB in collaboration with Barcelona City Council launched the Global Cities Programme (GCP). The GCP produces policy-oriented analyses of cities as transnational political actors; their role in European and global governance; and their ability to provide sustainable development solutions in the framework of the 2030 Agenda and beyond. Working in close collaboration with Barcelona City Council, the programme’s research and other outputs are focused on supporting cities in Europe, the Mediterranean and globally to tackle the green and digital transitions and related socioeconomic challenges.

CIDOB’s Global Cities Programme is seeking a Research Fellow to lead its research on the digital transition of cities. The successful candidate will analyse and support cities’ ambitions to test and upscale innovative digital solutions in a socially and environmentally sustainable manner; identify municipal governance challenges that arise from digital transformations; and monitor and assess regulation and policy standards that promote fair, transparent and ethical uses of digital technologies in urban space.
