The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) is looking for an experienced professional ready to make a change in the region to join its multicultural team. The Head of Administration, Contracts and Grants, working from the ALF Secretariat in Alexandria, will have the overall responsibility to lead the Administration Unit team and the Service Team; ensure efficient internal administrative procedures and workflows; supervise the procurement, the calls and the grant processes; and run the HR and the venues of the Foundation, in consistency of the rules laid out in the ALFs Manuals and the EU rules and procedures.

Virtual Marathon for Dialogue

The Anna Lindh Foundation Virtual Marathon for Dialogue consists in a series of cultural activities, weekly webinars on main issues for the promotion of EuroMed cultural cooperation, virtual trainings, seminars, exhibitions, debates led by the ALF Networks and partners, and building on all the work the ALF had done in preparation of MedForum 2020.

The main components include:

  • A regional launch event on 30 September 2020, in partnership with IEMED as the Head of the Anna Lindh Foundation Spanish National Network
  • The organization of a series of activities planned within the different programmes of the Foundation between September and December 2020 that will be the occasion to initiate the debate on the state and the future of EuroMed cooperation
  • The presentation of the ALF civil society contribution during the UFM regional Forum between 25 and 27 November in close coordination with the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean
  • The launch of a social media campaign running through 2021 to broadly spread the messaging of the initiative and engaging a large audience and social media influences with a specific focus on youth
  • A traditional media campaign and coverage of the Virtual Marathon for Dialogue activities at the EuroMed level
  • A programme of virtual activities as mentioned earlier including regional conferences, workshops, exhibitions, trainings and debates in the first semester of 2021 to be organised in coordination with the ALF Heads of Network and network members as well as some of the ALF partners

ICD Resource Center, Anna Lindh Foundation

The Anna Lindh Foundation has launched the Intercultural Dialogue Resource Centre in order to make research, good practices, learning activities, expertise and events on intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean accessible to everyone. The Centre contains information on more than 100 curated academic publications and the biographies and contact information for 100 experts. It also offers visitors a selection of journalistic articles, events, learning activities developed especially for civil society and around 30 good practices presenting successful projects addressing a variety of issues relating to intercultural encounters, trends and affairs in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Created in 2005, the Anna Lindh Foundation is an inter-governmental institution established by the countries of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership and the European Union in the framework of the Barcelona Process as the central institution for intercultural dialogue among the peoples of the region.

Euro-Mediterranean Award for Dialogue between Cultures 2017

AwardsThe Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) and Fondazione Mediterraneo (FM), are launching the 11th Edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Award for Dialogue Between Cultures. This annual Award, which is bestowed by the 42 ALF National Networks, recognises the achievements of individuals and organisations that have been at the forefront of promoting Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Candidates for the Award can be proposed either as an individual or as an organisation, and must bear the nationality of/ be registered in one of the 42 member countries of the Euro-Med Partnership. As youth,  women and minorities are the key target groups of the Foundation’s work, special attention will be given to candidates who have actively worked or implemented projects with these groups.

The selection of the winner of the Euro-Med Award is a participatory process which involves the Heads of the Networks, Network members and non-members. The shortlist of the three (3) finalists for the Award is carried out by the Jury, while the final selection of the winner of the award is carried out by the EuroMed Award Committee.

Anna Lindh Report 2014 Published

Book NotesThe Anna Lindh Foundation has just published its second report designed describing intercultural relations in the Mediterranean region; the first report appeared in 2010. The Anna Lindh Report 2014 again combines a Gallup Public Opinion Poll, representing the voices of 13,000 people across Europe and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region, with a wide range of analyses by a network of intercultural experts. Themes discussed include: social change in the EuroMed region, differences and similarities in value systems; the religious factor in intercultural relations; human mobility; the role of culture in Mediterranean relations; intercultural citizenship; the Union for the Mediterranean and regional cooperation.

A summary of the 10 major findings has been prepared as an infographic. Ilona Sābera Nukševica, a communication designer, has also discussed how she decided to present the findings visually.

Euromed Dialogue Award 2014

The Anna Lindh Foundation and the Fondazione Mediterraneo are launching the ninth edition of the Euromed Dialogue Award under the theme of ‘Social Resilience and Creativity’, in the framework of the 10th Anniversary of the Anna Lindh Foundation, to take place in Naples (Italy), next October.

The ALF Euro-Med Award recognises the achievements of individuals and organisations that have been at the forefront of promoting Intercultural Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Candidates for the Award can be nominated either as an individual or as an organisation and must be based in one of the member countries of the Euro-Med Partnership. Nominating organisations are requested to submit online their nomination proposals for the Award candidates before 30 June 2014 – midnight (Cairo time).

The winner shall receive a financial contribution of 5,000 euros in recognition of their work for Intercultural Dialogue in the Euro-Med region and a trophy, to be delivered by the Euro-Med Award Jury in a prestigious bestowing ceremony.

The Anna Lindh Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue promotes knowledge, mutual respect and inter-cultural dialogue between the people of the Euro-Mediterranean region, working through a network of more than 3,000 civil society organisations in 43 countries. Its budget is co-funded by the EU and the EU member states.

Euro-Med Dialogue Award 2013

The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) and Fondazione Mediterraneo (FM) are launching the Eighth edition of the Euro-Mediterranean Award for Dialogue between Cultures, an annual prize which recognizes the achievements of individuals and organisation working for the promotion of intercultural dialogue. This year’s theme is ”Migrants as Ambassadors for Mutual Understanding”.

The Anna Lindh Foundation invites all its network members in the 42 countries across the Euro-Med Region to nominate the best candidates for this year’s award which will bestow organisation(s) or individual enhancing dialogue involving migrants as main target group and actors for mutual understanding, taking into account the multiple facets and the interactions existing between development, democracy, diversity and dialogue. The deadline for nomination is 10 September 2013.
