Designed as a vibrant space for dialogue, influential people-to-people connections, and cultural expression, the AgorALF is aligned with the Pact for the Mediterranean, with a strong focus on the People pillar prioritising culture, youth, and mobility as key drivers of regional cooperation.

This call aims to bring together engaged intercultural dialogue professionals and other key actors from across the 43 Euro-Mediterranean countries who can meaningfully contribute to the AgorALF’s discussions, interactive spaces, and cultural moments to complement the diverse agenda.

The ALF Secretariat together with key institutional partners and active civil society actors has developed a rich and well-balanced agenda for AgorALF 2026. It brings together strong knowledge contributions, practical methodologies, and real case studies, complemented by interactive formats and inclusive cultural performances that reflect the depth and diversity of Euro-Mediterranean expertise and cooperation.

Anna Lindh Foundation: Knowledge for Action Programme (Egypt)

The ALF Knowledge for Action (K4A) Programme promotes the production and dissemination of evidence-based and policy-oriented research that addresses relevant dimensions of Intercultural Dialogue in the Euro-Med region. The Programme seeks to enhance the capacity of academic institutions (i.e., think tanks, specialised centres, and universities) to translate knowledge into visible, rigorous and actionable policies and practices that benefit civil society and tackle pressing challenges.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be affiliated with a university, a think tank, or a specialised centre.
  • Be nationals of one of the 43 Member States of the Anna Lindh Foundation

Anna Lindh Foundation: ALF in Motion (2025-6)

ALF in Motion: Anna Lindh Foundation Mobility Programme, Alexandria, Egypt. Deadline: 8 November 2025.

ALF in Motion gives intercultural dialogue civil society entities the chance to connect face-to face with partners from a complementary shore of the Mediterranean. ALF in Motion provides financial support to cover mobility costs. Through this programme, entities can choose to develop projects with new partners, bring an expert to their existing event, co-create art or produce new knowledge. In this programme, ALF introduces four distinct modalities.

Duration: Minimum 7 days, excluding traveling days
Funding: 1.300 euro
Purpose: Develop joint project proposals for international donors

Mobility for Action
Duration: Minimum 2 days, excluding traveling days

Purpose: Bring external expertise to workshops, debates, trainings, and cultural events, among others

Mobility for Creativity
Duration: Minimum 20 days, excluding traveling days
Funding: 2.200 euro
Purpose: Host artists and creative individuals for collaborative cultural initiatives

The ALF Knowledge for Action Programme is designed to promote the production of evidence-based and policy-oriented research that addresses relevant dimensions of Intercultural Dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region through presenting recommendations to facilitate policymaking by evaluating policy options regarding a specific issue. The Programme seeks to enhance collaboration between research/academic institutions (think-tanks, specialised centers, and universities) and civil society organisations.

ALF: Euro-Mediterranean Young Professionals Programme 2024 (Egypt)

The ALF Euro-Mediterranean Young Professionals Programme is a full-time professional experience designed for young professionals at the beginning of their careers who are eager to expand their intercultural expertise through dedicated work.

The programme aims to empower talented graduates under the age of 30 from the 43 countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region by providing them with firsthand professional experience in intercultural dialogue. Professionals also benefit by contributing to the Foundation’s mission to foster youth inclusion through empowerment and engagement, enforcing their competitiveness on the job market.

Successful applicants will begin their professional journey of up to 12 months at the ALF Secretariat in Alexandria, Egypt.

Anna Lindh Foundation: Mediterranean Youth in Action Expert (Egypt)

Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Institutional and Research External Expert for its Mediterranean Youth in Action (MYA) Programme. The MYA Institutional and Research External Expert will work closely with the ALF Executive Director and the MYA Programme Leader and advise them on new formulas to foster civil society cooperation and engage civil society entities, in line with the MYA’s objectives as well as analysing the Euro-Mediterranean and National policy frameworks related to youth, gender and intercultural dialogue and provide guidance to embed them into the MYA and ALF actions.

The MYA Institutional and Research External Expert will also liaise national and regional institutions and map events/initiatives opportunities at the Euro-Mediterranean scale to set a MYA agenda consistently with the evidence-based research activities and its institutional objectives among other responsibilities as requested by the ALF Executive Director and the MYA Programme Leader.

The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) is seeking a highly motivated individual with distinctive organisational skills to join the ALF Secretariat as the role of the ALForum Coordinator. The ALForum Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all communications, and organising schedules and activities related to the ALForum, a signature and unique tradition of the Anna Lindh Foundation. The Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) is seeking a creative and highly motivated individual to join the communication team as the role of Outreach Officer. The Outreach Officer will play a vital role in expanding the reach and impact of the Anna Lindh Foundation’s programmes and initiatives in line with the ALF Multiannual Work Programme 2022-2025, following the indications of the Communication Manager.

The Outreach Officer is responsible to develop and execute innovative outreach strategies, engaging with diverse stakeholders across the Euro Mediterranean to ensure the effective dissemination of ALF’s capacity building programmes, workshops, events, and networking opportunities using creative and impactful means. The Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures (ALF) is looking for an experienced professional ready to make a change in the region to join its multicultural team. The Public Policies Manager, working from the ALF Secretariat in Alexandria, will have the overall responsibility to lead the ALF Secretariat’s action towards the public bodies of the 42 Member States and the European Union’s institutions; ensure well-oiled internal and external coordination schemes and procedures; actively contribute to the fundraising strategy of the Foundation; direct the Public Policies team; supervise the assigned budget; develop, implement and organise all the ALF Public Policies Unit activities and coordinate with the other Units of the Foundation, in accordance with the ALF Multiannual Work Programme 2022-2025.

Mediterranean Capitals of Culture & Dialogue Grants

Mediterranean Capitals of Culture & Dialogue:
A yearlong celebration of Euro-Mediterranean identity and cooperation, Union for the Mediterranean and Anna Lindh Foundation, for 2025. Deadlines: 23 July 2023.

The Union for the Mediterranean launched the “Mediterranean Capitals of Culture & Dialogue” (MCCD) initiative during their 7th Regional Forum in November 2022. Based on the call of Ministers of Culture of the Euro-Mediterranean region on 17 June 2022 in Naples, as well as the recommendation of more than 200 young representatives from the civil society of over 20 countries at the Forum des Mondes Méditerranéens on 7 February 2022 in Marseille, this initiative was shaped to further promote the diversity and shared identity of the Euro-Mediterranean region and contribute to a better mutual unders- tanding of its peoples.

Two cities will be chosen, one from the North and one from the South; they will collaborate during 2024, and hold events in 2025. They must both be members of the Union of the Mediterranean. Activities will include offering programmes which may include conferences and seminars on topics critical to the region, civic engagement initiatives, and cultural performances that celebrate the Euro-Mediterranean identity and diversity, coordinated by local authorities with the support of a coalition of cultural institutions, schools and universities, sports institutions, civil society organisations, and other relevant actors.

Core objectives:

  • Euro-Mediterranean Identity: Encouraging intercultural dialogue and greater mutual understanding across the Euro-Mediterranean region: the initiative will aim to combine local objectives and realities with solid regional visions.

  • Territorian Cooperation: Promoting innovative partnerships at the local level to enhance regional integration: collaboration will be open to all eligible cities, irrespective of previous cooperation and territorial collocation, to promote fruitful interactions of territories with limited integration.

  • Bottom up Approach: Strengthening the role of civil society, and particularly young people, in shaping Euro- Mediterranean cooperation: every step of the initiative is designed and implemented in close cooperation with networks of youth and civil society actors.
