The School of Humanities and Social Science at Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) invites applications for faculty position in the areas of innovative media studies (specialization areas including, but not limited to, social media analytics, data journalism, cybersecurity and internet governance, digital and mobile media design, media psychology, health communication, marketing communication, etc.), at the rank of full professor/associate professor levels with prospect for tenure, although junior candidates with very competitive academic records may be considered for positions of assistant professor. Candidates with exceptionally outstanding records may be considered for Chair Professorship with tenure. All candidates should have (i) a PhD degree (by the time of reporting duty) in a relevant area of innovative media studies; and (ii) evidence of high potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship.

Senior Scholar in Global Studies

The School of Humanities and Social Science at CUHK (SZ) invites nominations and applications for a senior scholar position in the area of global studies (broadly defined, including, but not limited to, international relations, international and regional studies, globalization development and trends, global governance, global sustainability, etc.).

Candidates for this senior position are expected to have prior experience in leadership position(s) in the relevant areas, and to have attained professorship rank (or equivalent) or above (e.g., distinguished professorship, chair professorship) in competitive institutions. The successful candidate for this position is expected to serve as the leader in establishing and developing a center/program of excellence in the area of global studies (broadly defined, and name tentative).

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, leading to longer-term appointment or tenure later, subject to successful performance evaluation and mutual agreement. In cases where a candidate has an established record of excellence and demonstrable potential for continued success, tenure may be offered to the candidate at the time of initial appointment.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen [CUHK(SZ)] is a new, independent university established through a Memorandum of Understanding between The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Shenzhen University, and the Shenzhen Municipal Government. The new University is a research-orientated, forward-thinking, non-profit-making University which places emphasis on cross-disciplinary teaching and research.
