University of Louisiana Monroe seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month, Assistant Professor in Communication with a strong understanding of the Communication discipline, and the ability to teach across concentrations to begin August 2020. Candidates will teach in the Advocacy concentration primarily and should have specializations in intercultural communication and performance studies. Position requires teaching four classes per semester, both undergraduate and graduate level, including courses such as Intercultural Communication, Communication and Conflict, Performance Advocacy, Qualitative Methods, and a rotation of service courses (Interpersonal, Fundamentals, Public Speaking, and Small Group Communication), providing service to the institution, and engaging in scholarly and/or creative work.

Manuscripts should address or relate to communicating in a context of dissent, conflict, partisanship, tension, and so on. Manuscripts may focus on any type communication, including group, face-to-face, family, or mediated communication, and may use any methodology for analysis. We are particularly interested in unique, non-standard approaches and voices, but all manuscripts are welcome.  Submissions from all geographic areas are encouraged, and one need not be a member of the Iowa Communication Association to submit a piece.
