Boston University Study Abroad (BUSA) is seeking an effective Executive Director for its prestigious London Programmes, based at BUSA’s site in South Kensington. Reporting to the Executive Director of BUSA, the Director, London Programmes is responsible for BUSA London’s strategic development, in line with local opportunities and the goals, values and resources of BUSA. They will oversee all aspects of the London site, including the London Study Abroad staff and faculty, budget planning and management, all aspects of student programming, site facilities and operations, health and safety issues and emergencies, legal compliance, and maintenance of stakeholder relationships with institutions and organisations in London directly related to programme operations. The Director supports efforts to publicise BUSA London programmes and to reach appropriate enrollment goals and may be expected to participate in student recruitment efforts. In addition, and working in close collaboration with Global Programs leadership and other BU colleagues, the Director will also support as appropriate the University’s effort to build its global engagement strategy.

Boston University London Programmes is seeking to appoint an experienced Associate Director, Human Resources. BU London Programmes is the largest of Boston University’s study-abroad programmes, providing the opportunity to study in London for 900-1000 students from the US each year. BU’s programme in London provides semester based, academic courses to undergraduate and graduate students in areas of Business, Communications and Media, Economics & Finance, Politics, Law & Social Sciences, and Arts and Humanities. The Associate Director, Human Resources develops and oversees the Human Resources and administrative polices of the Boston University London Programmes and provides guidance and support to approximately 80 employees and faculty, including line managers, on all HR matters in London.

This position is based full-time in London, UK, and the successful candidate must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. The Associate Director is an employee of BU GP-SA London, with a benefits package appropriate to the UK.

On Friday, February 26, 2021 Boston University’s College of General Studies (CGS) will host a colloquia for Ph.D. candidates who are close to graduating and applying for jobs in academia and whose research interests include teaching diverse texts and facilitating respectful classroom dialogue, especially in general education. We welcome colloquia participant applications from Ph.D. candidates who have experience teaching general education and who are interested in a day and one half symposium where they will present on their research and teaching and will interact with nationally recognized scholars, pedagogues and Boston University students. A joint offering through Boston University’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the College of General Studies, participants will receive a stipend to cover transportation, accommodations and food for the day and one half experience.

The International Student Advisor counsels and advises a complicated caseload of approximately 1,200 nonimmigrant international students and their dependent family members in relation to obtaining and maintaining valid immigration status, benefits of certain immigration classifications and other regulatory requirements. Directly reporting to the Associate Director for Student Services, the International Student Advisor serves as liaison to assigned schools and colleges and provides advanced immigration related advice and assistance to faculty and administrators regarding international student regulations.
