Sameer Patankar is a Senior Research Fellow and Ph.D. Candidate at the School of Communication Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh, India.
He is pursuing a doctorate in the area of intercultural communication, in addition to teaching at the post graduate level to students of Journalism and Mass Communication. His research specializations are Intercultural Communicative Competence, Cultural Adoption, Cultural Assimilation, and Interpersonal Communication.
He passed the highly competitive NET exam (National Eligibility Test) in Journalism and Mass Communication. (This is the eligibility test for the post of Assistant Professor in Indian Universities and Colleges for Indian Nationals.) He was also awarded a Junior Research Fellowship for his doctoral education.
