The Role of Senior Professorship in the Department of Communication
The department currently offers broad-based curricula leading to BA, MA and PhD degrees embracing the full range of the field, including: Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Mass Communication, New Media, Media and Cultural Studies, Cinema, International and Intercultural Communication, and Media Production. The Faculty wishes to make a strategic appointment at a senior level that can both contribute to and complement existing departmental emphases. While the post is open to applications from any area of media and communication, we are especially interested in candidates with leading international reputations whose academic expertise is relevant to the concerns of Macao and the Greater China region. The candidates should possess expertise and knowledge covering a broad range of sub-disciplines such as social science theories of communication effects, quantitative research methodology, journalism, advertising, public relations, new media, and international/intercultural communication. The successful candidate will be expected to play a full leadership role in the department, where appropriate, this may include serving as Department Head.
