Coventry University has been developing international experience opportunities for students and recent graduates as part of the University internationalisation and employability strategies. To enhance these strategies, the Centre for Global Engagement [CGE] offers CU students and staff opportunities to learn or improve their language and intercultural skills. With the growth in numbers of language learners through the Linguae Mundi scheme and the ambition to offer language education to a quarter of CU students and staff by 2020, a dedicated Programme Manager is required to further manage and develop this fast-growing initiative.

The purpose of the role is to take responsibility, and be accountable, for all aspects of the Linguae Mundi programme, delivering against the annual targets. Reporting to the Deputy Director of CGE for Operations and Business Development, the ideal candidate will be a motivated, well-organised, self-reliant individual with solid experience in programme management and committed to achieving excellence in fulfilling both individual and team objectives. The ability to motivate and manage people as well as manage a complex, ambitious programme are also key capabilities of this role.

Coventry University is a leading universities, committed to internationalisation and providing its students with access to a wide selection of international opportunities. As our plans expand, we seek an enthusiastic Assistant Intercultural Engagement Manager to join a busy team at the Centre for Global Engagement.

The post holder will support the development and growth of the institution-wide Internationalisation of Curriculum and online international learning developments as part of Coventry University’s Internationalisation Strategy. In collaboration with other team members, the post holder will oversee selected projects and lead on developing ideas for further growth and expansion.

This role is to play a key part in the growth of internationalisation activities across all faculties/schools.

This role has been created to ensure detailed arrangements to support the development of new and existing Online International Learning projects and other Internationalisation of Curriculum (IoC) models, and to monitor, evaluate and report overall IoC activity as per corporate targets.

This role will contribute to effective liaison, co-operation and support between CGE, internal units and external partners. The post holder will be expected to work in close collaboration with students, academic and professional services staff across the Coventry University group, as well as external stakeholders to ensure effective management of projects.

As targets increase the post holder will be expected to scale up specific projects whilst maintaining their academic quality.
