Call for participants: Chinese Americans raised in immigrant families. Deadline: 18 December 2026.
“Have you heard stories about your parents’ immigration experiences?
I am Jinwen Yue, a PhD candidate studying family communication at the University of Missouri. I am recruiting Chinese Americans to participate in a study about Chinese family immigration stories. You may be eligible to participate if you:
- Identify as Chinese American
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Were born in the United States or have lived here since age five or younger
- Have at least one parent who immigrated from China
If you meet these criteria, I would love to hear your story through a Zoom interview!
During the 60-minute interview, you will be invited to share stories you have heard about your parents’ immigration experiences (e.g., their decision to move to the US, the challenges they once faced, and how they built their lives here) and reflect on what these stories mean to you and your family.
Participation is voluntary and uncompensated. All the information you share will be kept confidential. Your participation will contribute to communication research on immigrant families.
