The Department of Communication at Villanova University seeks applicants for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow, to begin Fall 2023. The position is renewable for up to three years. The position is designed to foster the professional development of recent PhDs on their journey to full-time faculty positions. Successful candidates will gain formal teaching experience as well as support and mentorship from Communication faculty. The department is particularly interested in expanding studies at the juncture of communication and race which may include intersections with practices of gender, sexuality, ability, transnationalism, etc.
Basic requirements: Ph.D. in Communication (ABD considered, with degree in hand by August 2023). Seeking candidates whose teaching, scholarship, and/or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as demonstrated in our Departmental focus on social justice, dialogue, and storytelling across the eight area concentrations (Interpersonal & Intercultural Communication, Journalism, Media Production, Media Studies, Organizational Communication, Performance Studies, Public Relations & Advertising, Rhetorical Studies). Some college-level teaching is a plus but not required.
