The candidate’s main area of teaching and research should be in Public Relations; the ideal candidate will be able to contribute to growing our Public Relations area. The department places a high value on issues of social justice and diversity as well as service-learning and seeks a colleague who can contribute to those emphases. The successful candidate will be able to teach our courses in Public Relations, Internships, and Communication and the Human Condition, in addition to contributing to teaching our lower-level core courses and upper-level courses. Ability to teach courses in conflict management, health communication, intercultural communication, and/or communication and ethnicity is a plus. The primary responsibility of the position is teaching undergraduate students, including advising students (typical credit load for faculty members is 24-credits). Faculty are also expected to contribute to scholarship through research publication and perform other duties as assigned.
